Extension of Madrid Barajas airport

Several works have been carried out in the new 3,500 metre long Madrid-Barajas Airport landing strip, during which 29 million cubic metres of earth have been moved. .
These include the execution of the Iberia container platforms and for fire service training next to the 15/33 runway Fire Extinguishing Service and the 600 metre long airport connection services tunnel between Terminal 4 and the Satellite of the Madrid-Barajas airport, made up of six channels 10 metres wide and 4 high. One of them is used by the train carrying passengers to the Satellite, by three goods belts, and the other two carry the airport's internal traffic.
The works also include the roof of the new Barajas Airport terminal building, made up of two independent surfaces which incorporate the steel structure, with external aluminium and covered internally with bamboo layers (creating the wave image).
