Campus Repsol building
Construction Date: 2012
Geolocation: Madrid (España)
This building is in Calle Méndez Álvaro and has a built surface area of 123,000 m2. It is made up of four buildings each of which is arranged around a large central garden in the middle, approximately 1.5 times the size of a football pitch.
The building, designed by the architect Rafael de La-Hoz and with interior design by Aguirre Newman and Enrica Rosellini, is the only business campus standing in Madrid city centre. Six key points were used for the design and construction of the building: sustainable site, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovative design.
The REPSOL Campus, built by Sacyr, has been awarded the LEED-NC Certification in the Platinum category, the highest possible distinction for newly constructed buildings granted by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This certification guarantees that the entire building has been designed and constructed in compliance with the most demanding sustainability criteria. The certificate was awarded taking into account factors such as the selection of the plot of land, the facilities given to use eco-efficient means of transport or the use of recycled materials.
