Cafestore, Sacyr's restaurant services company, has renewed four certifications from AENOR in accordance with the international standards of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety), and the Sustainable Restaurant certification.
With these certifications, Cafestore reaffirms its commitment as a socially and environmentally responsible company and reinforces its dedication to continuous improvement in quality and environmental performance.
Cafestore serves over five million customers annually and operates 41 sites across 11 autonomous communities, primarily focused on travel-related catering (motorways, airports, and high-speed rail stations) and catering for the healthcare sector.
Food safety
Cafestore has renewed the ISO 22000:2018 certification at the hospital in Elche (Alicante), which ensures food safety across the entire food supply chain through to final consumption. This highly demanding renewal recognizes a rigorous evaluation of all procedures, from goods reception to patient service.
The kitchen team is engaged in a collective effort to enhance food safety practices through continuous training and strict supervision at all levels of staff.
Sustainable dining
At the Deliquo Condesa company cafeteria located at Sacyr’s headquarters, the “Sustainable Restaurant” certification has also been renewed. This certification, developed by AENOR, assesses and certifies the organisation’s commitment to sustainability and healthy eating, with special emphasis on combating food waste.
The certification recognizes Sacyr’s dedication—through its Deliquo brand—to developing a service model that is healthy, sustainable, and environmentally responsible, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
This distinction is the first of its kind in Spain to be endorsed by an Accredited Certification Body and serves as a standardised reference framework for assessing environmental and social sustainability. Only a few companies have met its high requirements.
Comprehensive environmental management
Cafestore operates an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001:2015 in all hospitals where it provides services. This system promotes the reduction of ecological impact through sustainable practices such as the use of locally sourced products, reduced energy and water consumption, recycling initiatives, and staff awareness campaigns focused on best environmental practices. These actions are aligned with Sacyr Group’s broader sustainability strategy.
The renewal of the ISO 9001:2015 certification guarantees that Cafestore’s processes are oriented toward operational excellence and continuous improvement. From supplier selection to customer experience, quality is embedded throughout all levels of the organisation, with a particular focus on creating healthy, efficient, and user-centric environments.
