Financial Times, in collaboration with Statista, the largest online data portal, included us for the third consecutive year in its Europe's Climate Leaders list, that ranks the top 500 European companies that are paving the way to reduce their carbon footprint.
One of the most highlighted aspects was the company's reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 32%.
There are 29 Spanish companies in this year's list and 30 from the construction and building materials sector in Europe.
The ranking is prepared after months of exhaustive research, analysis of emissions data and liaising with thousands of companies.
In this edition, the methodology used to select climate leaders was strengthened, in compliance with the growing demands of rating agencies, ESG indices, consumer investors, and regulators regarding corporate climate action.
An ambitious commitment
This recognition is the result of our ambitious commitment to the environment in general and to the fight against climate change in particular. These policies are included in our Decarbonization Plan which includes measures relating to energy efficiency, pivoting towards renewable energy sources, sustainable mobility and the extension of the commitment to the value chain.
Sacyr remains fiercely committed to its short-term goals for 2030 to reduce emissions in the three scopes (-42% scope 1 and 2 and -25% scope 3) with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality before 2050.
The company has achieved a leadership position in the fight against climate change in our sector, but still aims to continue contributing so that all agents of society are involved in the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
