The Junta de Andalucía awarded Sacyr the project for the adaptation and commissioning of the Cuevas de Almanzora Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP).
This improvement project on the DWTP is designed to achieve a 1,480 m3/h water stream allowing to improve both water quality and supply.
This project represents an initial investment of €7.4 million. Over the next 12 months Sacyr will upgrade the plant’s pre-treatment, electricity, and control systems. Sacyr will also undertake rehabilitation works on the intake structure, the installation of new valves, two 21-cm diameter decanters for sludge recirculation and four double sand filters.
As to continually improve the DWTP infrastructure, this project includes the development of a new sludge treatment facility, the replacement the reverse osmosis nanofiltration plant and the construction of a new building for blowers, dewatering, and sludge storage.
High speed rail in Almeria
Among the many projects that Sacyr is currently developing in Almeria one of the most important is the burial of the high-speed rail tracks in Almeria. Adif High Speed awarded Sacyr the second stage of the project to integrate high speed rail tracks with a 1.9 km tunnel and remodeling and expansion of the station to turn it into a new intermodal node.
Sacyr Water was recently awarded the design and development works to improve energy efficiency rates at the Carboneras desalination plant. This contract has a two-year execution period from work start and is valued at €29.7 million. This facility features a processing capacity of 120.000 m3/day and will provide better quality desalinated water with less energy consumption.
