Nine innovation agents showcase their proposals at Sacyr Innovation Summit

  • At the event, the participating agents showcased their solutions to the three business challenges issued by the company in Sacyr iChallenges 6.
  • Sacyr iChallenges is an open innovation program with which Sacyr seeks to find travel companions with whom to promote solutions that help improve people’s quality of life with more sustainable solutions.

Yesterday, Sacyr celebrated Sacyr Innovation Summit, its annual open innovation event, that gathered the best proposals received for Sacyr iChallenges 6, which issued three business challenges.

The meeting was held in hybrid format and welcomed nine innovation agents from seven countries (Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Israel, Canada, Norway, and Latvia) that answered the Sacyr iChallenges call and submitted their proposals.

Sacyr iChallenges is one of the pillars in Sacyr’s innovation and transformation strategy, based on teamwork and co-creation with the international innovation ecosystem.

Manuel Manrique, Sacyr Chairman, gave the closing speech and highlighted that “at Sacyr, innovation equals sharing and teamwork”. “The best Sacyr talent, combined with the best outside talent. That is why we firmly believe that partnering with the innovation ecosystem is our best bid”, Manrique said.

Outstanding turnout

This edition of Sacyr iChallenges got 205 submissions from 34 countries.

After carefully examining all ideas, the company selected the nine agents whose solutions best solved this year’s Sacyr iChallenges, with a focus on sustainability.

The following agents participated in Sacyr Innovation Summit with their proposals:

  • Water challenge: Detection of concern-raising pollutants.

Selected proposals: AMS Analytics (USA); Kraken Sense (Canada); Captoplastics (Spain).

  • Roads challenge: solutions to make safer and more sustainable infrastructure.

Selected proposals: Valerann (UK); Roadsense (Israel); VeriToll (USA).

  • Construction challenge: Insights on geotechnical and topographical characteristics of projects.

Selected proposals: SPH Engineering (Latvia); Lunasonde (USA); Emerald Geomodelling (Norway).

At Sacyr Innovation Summit, the selected innovation agents participated in in-person sessions to define pilot projects along with Sacyr experts and showcased their projects to management.

The Sacyr Foundation will acknowledge the best Sacyr iChallenges solutions submitted by the innovation community at the 13th Sacyr Innovation Awards.
