The Sacyr Foundation has signed a collaboration agreement with the Fundación Afanias to build a room for the support and development of people with disabilities at their center in Viñuelas (Guadalajara).
The Snoezelen room will be furbished as an interactive space, designed to stimulate the senses. The goal of this facility is to improve the quality of life of the users of this center, affected by severe cognitive decline and motor and neurological impairments.
Diego Zamorano, Corporate Social Responsibility manager of Sacyr, and Antonio Gutiérrez, Regional manager for Castilla-La Mancha of Valoriza, a Sacyr company, visited the facilities in Viñuelas, to see the space with Marisa Cazorla (Director of Afanias) and Irene Ibarrondo (Director of Afanias Castilla-La Mancha).
With this new project Sacyr reinforces its commitment with Castilla-La Mancha, together with the Fundación Afanias, committed to working with people with intellectual disabilities, whom they support with effort, implication, and work.
This initiative is framed within the project “Un mapa, un año” (‘One map, one year’) of the Sacyr Foundation. The goal of this Project is to meet the needs of the different social organizations in different locations in Spain, and to help to remediate them.
Afanias has more than 20 centers in different locations in Spain and offers different services to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities. Their support is critical during the users’ entire lives, from their school years to their stays in career centers and care homes.
