Valoriza increases backlog by 16% in 2022, up to €3.4 billion

  • The Sacyr Services subsidiary secures relevant contracts across all activities.

Valoriza, a Sacyr Services company, focused on the municipal, facilities and social services activities, won new contracts in 2022 worth €1,080 million. At the end of 2022, their backlog stood at €3,390 million, 16% higher than in December 2021.

Out of the 2022 backlog, €2,405 million are from Valoriza’s contracts in Spain. The rest is divided into the waste treatment facilities area at Sacyr Circular (€660 million), the international contracts (€206 million) and the new sustainable businesses at Sacyr Green (€119 million).

 

New contracts

Valoriza won several contracts of relevance, including the following in the environmental area: waste sorting bins, waste management and collection in Madrid (€210 million); street cleaning and waste collection in Cádiz (€148 million); street cleaning and waste collection in Toledo (€35 million); street cleaning, waste collection, street parking regulations service, towing service and two underground parking facilities in Puertollano, Ciudad Real (€39.5 million); street cleaning, waste collection and waste transportation in Mollet del Vallès, Barcelona (€20 million).

The Facilities area, signed, among others, cleaning and facility maintenance contracts in 89 schools in the Valencian Community (€25 million) and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, the facility cleaning (€15.6 million).

One of the most relevant contracts part of Valoriza’s social activity scope are bundles 2 and 4 of the home care services in the Community of Madrid, for €108 million, and the management of the day care centers of the City of Valladolid.

 

The Street cleaning and waste collection service in Barcelona

As another noteworthy feat in 2022, Valoriza started providing the Street cleaning and waste collection service in Barcelona, a contract won in 2021. Valoriza won Bundle 3 of the contract, that includes the Horta-Guinardó and Nou Barris districts, to the north of the city, home to 350,000 inhabitants.

The contract had an 8-year term, extendable to 10 years, and valued at €415 million.
