  • The scope of the deal includes Pamplona-Cúcuta Highway, Autopista al Mar 1 and Rumichaca-Pasto Highway. Sacyr will continue to maintain some activity in Colombia with three other P3 projects.

Sacyr has closed the deal to sell its entire stake in three operational P3 assets in Colombia to an entity controlled by Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund 2. The three assets, which are fully operational, are Unión Vial Río Pamplonita (Pamplona-Cúcuta Highway), Desarrollo Vial al Mar (Autopista al Mar 1) and Concesionaria Vial Unión del Sur (Rumichaca Pasto Highway)

This transaction underscores the value of Sacyr's assets, with the amount of the sale being 12% above the valuation provided in the Investor Day 2024.

This transaction will have a very positive impact on the Company’s Cash Flow Statement due to the cash inflow of $332 million.

Sacyr could receive variable amounts (earn-outs) valued at approximately $70 million, with a positive accounting and cash impact depending on the success of different claims currently in process, possible positive impact on the group's accounting and cash flow.

Fast-tracking growth

This divestment, in line with Sacyr's standard asset rotation strategy, strengthens the balance sheet to accelerate the company's growth plan, which expects to triple its equity and asset valuation by 2033.

In addition, it aligns with the company’s goal of balancing the geographic distribution of its current project portfolio.

Activities in Colombia

Following this divestment, Sacyr will maintain its activities in Colombia, operating three assets: Puerta de Hierro Highway (in operation), Buenaventura-Loboguerrero-Buga Road Corridor and the Restoration of the Degraded Canal del Dique Ecosystems, with the latter two being in the development phase.

Successful implementation of the Sustainable Suppliers program

Sacyr has participated in the II (2024) and III (2025) editions of the Sustainable Suppliers program to collaborate in its transition towards more sustainable business models.

The Sustainable Supplier Training Program of the UN Global Compact Spain, ICEX and Fundación ICO has facilitated the training of more than 2,300 SME suppliers from more than 72 countries.

This program provides them with knowledge and resources on corporate sustainability, as well as help in complying with the requirements of the national, European and international regulatory frameworks on the subject.

In the latest edition, this year, 40% of our suppliers have completed the training, joining the other 48 large companies that have promoted sustainability training in their respective supply chains.

This initiative was launched in 2023 with the aim of training SME suppliers of large companies in the key principles of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since its inception, the program has managed to train more than 5,000 supplier companies in the integration of sustainable practices into their business models.

This edition has stood out for the high level of satisfaction among the participating SMEs, as 91% of them consider that the training has been useful for their company, which underlines the confidence and effectiveness of the initiative.

For Sacyr, the impact of responsible management in its supply chain is very relevant, as it is the main barrier that large companies encounter when promoting sustainability.

2nd Edition of Business & Human Rights

The Sacyr Foundation also participated in the 2nd Edition of the Business & Human Rights Accelerator, along with 56 other companies in Spain.

This innovative six-month program is designed to train companies from all sectors and regions in the implementation of effective human rights due diligence processes.

Through practical tools and expertise, companies can ensure that their operations respect and promote human rights, contributing to the development of a more ethical and sustainable business environment.

The Business and Human Rights Accelerator program is part of the pioneering international outreach programs that the UN Global Compact offers companies to achieve real and effective action on key aspects of the 2030 Agenda and the Ten Principles of the Global Compact.

Sacyr to build La Paz Hospital’s new proton therapy unit In Madrid

  • This state-of-the-art infrastructure will transform pediatric cancer treatment in the Madrid region, with a design focused on patient experience.
  • Sacyr, which recently completed the new hospital building at the 12 de Octubre Hospital, specializes in the development of healthcare facilities around the world.

Sacyr has been awarded the contract to build the new Proton Therapy Unit at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid. This project, with a budget of €16.5 million, will significantly enhance cancer treatment in the Madrid region, particularly for pediatric patients.

The new building will be located next to the current pediatric blood draw building and will be fully integrated into the hospital environment. Its core will be a bunker that will house the advanced proton therapy equipment, connected both to the hospital and to the annex building through a walkway on the first floor.

In addition to the bunker, the project includes the construction of healthcare areas that will include examination rooms, diagnostic and planning areas, spaces for patient preparation, work areas for health professionals and training areas.

Technical rooms have also been designed attached to the bunker, which will house the equipment and facilities necessary to operate the unit.

Patient-centered care model

The Proton Therapy Unit is designed with a strong focus on the patient experience, especially for children. Factors such as lighting, acoustics, spatial design, color schemes, climate control, energy efficiency, and functionality have all been carefully considered to create a welcoming and comfortable environment that promotes well-being.

Since a significant proportion of patients receiving this treatment will be children, the project incorporates a waiting area with a children's play area and three specially designed anesthesia rooms for young patients. These rooms will have themes to minimize anxiety and allow family members to stay with the child until sedation.

Extensive international experience

Sacyr has extensive experience in the design and construction of healthcare infrastructures, with more than 80 hospitals and health centers built in seven countries, totaling more than 18,000 beds. This track record allows Sacyr to approach each project with a comprehensive vision that combines technology, sustainability and humanization.

Among the most outstanding projects in Spain are the Henares University Hospital and the Infanta Cristina Hospital in Parla, both developed under concession models, Asturias’ Central University Hospital, the Valladolid’s University Clinical Hospital or the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital (Madrid).

In Madrid, Sacyr has recently completed the new hospital building of the 12 de Octubre Hospital, with over 135,000 square meters of space, 700 rooms, 40 operating rooms and therapeutic green areas for patients and their families. Sacyr has also intervened in the renovation of the Oncology Institute of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital, improving the functionality and comfort of its healthcare spaces.

Internationally, notable projects include the Regional Hospital of Antofagasta in Chile and the Sótero del Río Hospital, which will be the largest in Chile and one of the largest in Latin America, featuring 710 beds and 44 operating rooms. In Italy, Sacyr is leading the construction of the Turin Health Complex, a 175,000 sqm hospital and university complex that will serve more than 300,000 people.

Innovative projects

Sacyr also champions innovative projects like the Cognitive Hospital, an intelligent platform leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence, Big Data, 7D BIM, and LiDAR sensors to optimize hospital management, enhance energy efficiency, and improve air quality and patient care.

With each new endeavor, Sacyr reaffirms its dedication to creating more human-centered, sustainable, and technologically advanced hospital environments, consistently prioritizing the patient experience.
