Sacyr to rebuild San Borja Hospital in Chile for €95.2 million

  • This facility features 549 beds and 25,000 sqm of built surface area.

The Central Metropolitan Health Service of Chile’s Ministry of Health has awarded Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure the contract to rebuild the facilities of the Diagnosis and Treatment Center (CDT) and the Main Block of the San Borja Arriarán Hospital in Santiago, Chile, for a total value of €95.2 million

The project scope includes the reconstruction of the hospital, which was affected by a fire in 2021. Works aim to restore the operational capacity of critical departments, including medical imaging, hemodynamics, gastroenterology, food services, and administrative areas, ensuring uninterrupted care for thousands of patients.

The complex covers a total built surface area of 25,000 sqm and has a capacity of 549 beds.

San Borja Arriarán Hospital is one of the leading institutions in Chile’s public healthcare network, providing highly specialized care in the Metropolitan Region. The project will enable the recovery of essential areas and strengthen the continuity of healthcare services.

Sacyr has developed more than 80 hospitals with over 18,000 beds across nine countries, along with other high value-added infrastructure projects.

With this new contract, Sacyr reinforces its commitment to Chile’s healthcare infrastructure, where it currently has eight hospital projects built or under development, including two under concession.
