Aguas Municipales de Vitoria (AMVISA) has awarded Sacyr Water the maintenance service of its sanitation and purification network (urban quarter and administrative councils) for a period of three years (renewable for two more years) and an amount of 11.4 million euros.
With this contract, Sacyr Water will provide services to a population of over 250,000 residents, and will carry out:
- the cleaning and inspection of the sanitation network, over 1,000 km in length;
- the restoration works with reparation technology without opening ditches;
- and the cleaning of septic tanks.
Recycling technology and zero emissions vehicles
In line with the city’s environmentally sustainable model and Sacyr Water's commitment to the SDGs and sustainable cities, the subsidiary will incorporate zero emissions and eco-friendly equipment. All cleaning vehicles of the network will use recycling technology that allows significantly reducing the consumption of water, as well as improving the performance of the cleaning equipment.
Among the priorities of this service Sacyr Water has set the preservation of natural and environmental resources, workplace safety and health in all processes and innovation.
Sacyr Water carries out the management of the complete water cycle and operates and maintains more than 13,000 km of supply networks and more than 108,000 drains and manholes in six countries, in which it supplies 10 million inhabitants.
