The project for the new hospital building of 12 de Octubre Hospital will add 1,450 beds, 170 ICU beds, as well as 40 operating rooms and reanimation areas. The project has a budget of nearly €200 million.
The construction of the expansion of the new building unit of 12 de Octubre Hospital advances at a good pace. Since the beginning of works in September 2021, we have executed approximately one third of the total 120,000 involved in the project. Currently, there are 300 professionals involved in the project, and we expect to peak at 800 people on site in the coming months.
The new 12 de Octubre building unit will be spacious, full of light, comfortable, environmentally friendly and energy efficient. The facilties will have 756 solar panels (400 wp) that will expectedly generate nearly 500,000 kWh per year.
The construction of this new building concludes the comprehensive renovation plan for the 12 de Octubre Hospital, that began back in 2006.
