The company has improved its score after having received an A- score -the second highest- two consecutive years, in 2020 and 2021. This recognizes the company’s implementation of best practices associated with environmental leadership.
CDP, the world’s top organization in environmental disclosure has recognized Sacyr’s climate change leadership by including the company in this year’s climate change A List. According to the data provided via the 2022 climate change questionnaire, the company is in the top group with the best qualifications.
The annual environmental disclosure ranking by CDP is widely recognized as the standard in corporate environmental transparency about climate. This organization uses a detailed system to rate companies, by assigning them a score from A to D based on how thorough their disclosure is, the degree of awareness, environmental risk management and their climate leadership practices, such as setting ambitious and relevant goals.
To Fernando Lozano, Corporate General Manager of Sacyr, “this recognition ratifies Sacyr’s ambitious and science-based targets -ratified by SBTi- that were incorporated into our Climate Change Strategy. We continue to advance to achieve our goal for the future, becoming carbon neutral before 2050.”
In 2022, more than 680 financial institutions with over US$130 trillion in assets and over 280 major buyers worth US$6.4 trillion in purchasing power requested environmental impact, risks and opportunities data through CDP. A record 18,700 companies complied. The full list of companies in this year’s CDP A List can be viewed here.
