Today, Sacyr received the SA8000 certification from TÜV Rheinland Spain for its performance in protecting human and workers’ rights. Juan Antonio Fernández Cerrato, People Director at Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure, received the certification from Martin Throm, Head of Customized Services at TÜV Rheinland Spain, and Romina Prado, Head of certification systems business development at TÜV Rheinland Spain. The SA8000 certification is an internationally recognized certification standard that provides the framework for organizations of all types to achieve a safe and healthy work environment, and a company strategy that protects the work-related social aspects. With this certification, Sacyr strengthens its course on the fulfillment of the 2021-2025 Strategic Plan goals, which promote diversity through hiring diverse profiles and foster an inclusive and safe work environment.

This certification by Social Accountability International (SAI) is based on the principles of the United Nations’ Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and each country’s national law. In 2022 Sacyr was included in the TOP21 Human Digital Health for being a benchmark company in terms of corporate wellbeing as its contribution to SDG 3.
