The Chilean Ministry of Public Works has chosen Sacyr Concesiones’ tender offer as the most competitive to win the Ruta del Itata second P3 (North Access to Concepción). This road spans 96 kilometers and connects the regions of Ñuble and Biobío in Central Chile.
The Ruta del Itata P3 project will last for a minimum period of 18 years and will have a €1.2 Bn backlog.
Sacyr Concesiones will make an investment of close to €516 million, which will be used to improve, build, maintain and operate the Ruta del Itata.
Works span across the 96.1 km of the P3 project, which include 75.1 km of Ruta 152; 14.1 km of Ruta 158 and a new 6.9 km connection that will connect it to Ruta 146, another Sacyr P3 through the Valles del Biobío P3 company.
The project consists of upgrading the existing roads, rectifying the layout and enabling new bridges and sections of service streets, improving safety and comfort standards for users.
Main works of this new P3 include 10 new junctions, 2 bridges, 2 viaducts, 24 new stops, 12 new walkways, service streets, circuits and a new pedestrian bridge, more than 7 km of bike lanes, signage and demarcation, and the implementation of the free flow toll system.
