Sacyr saludable program lauded in Europe

  • ACES Europe recognizes Sacyr’s work in promoting the health and wellbeing of employees

Today, the Sacyr Saludable program was awarded the European Sport and Healthy Company award by ACES Europe.

The award was presented at a ceremony held in Turin (Italy), in which the cities of The Hague (Netherlands) and Madrid (Spain) played special roles as the respective European and world capitals of sport.

The honor is in recognition of Sacyr’s policies to promote a healthy lifestyle among its employees, consistent with the objectives of the 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, which positions Sacyr as a sustainable, diverse company and a standard-bearer for workplace wellbeing.

“The physical and psychosocial health of our employees is a very important part of our strategy, the key objective of which is to ensure a healthy workforce in the broadest sense of the word,” said Ángel Prieto, Corporate Health and Safety Manager, after receiving the award.

Initiatives for employees

The Sacyr Saludable initiative, submitted for competition in November 2021, includes a series of activities developed by the Health and Safety department, the Sacyr Sports Club, and Cafestore, including the Oh Europa challenge, content on healthy nutrition and emotional wellbeing, and the cardiovascular risk reduction campaign.

As an award-winning company, the Technical Committee will track the project for the next three years. Sacyr can also submit new health and fitness initiatives to the committee for its analysis and subsequent recommendations.

The International Sport and Healthy Company awards have been held since 2016. Previous winners include El Pozo, VW Mexico, and ALSA.
