In this 9th edition, with awards crafted from fishing nets recovered from the ocean floor, we aimed to honor individuals who embody our values in the countries where we operate.
Spain
The winners in Spain are:

Thomas Ransome and Alejandro Rubio – For developing a chemical cleaning process for cartridge filters at the Binningup desalination plant in Australia. This innovative selective chemical cleaning system protects reverse osmosis membranes, leading to significant cost savings, extended filter lifespan, and reduced accident risk.

Juan Chica, Antonio Jiménez–Peña, Ramón Sánchez, and María Ángeles Tora – For advancing industrialization in construction processes by integrating prefabricated elements into the design and construction of buildings, including bathrooms, facades, and installations. This approach, implemented in Chile and the UK, reduces waste generation and mitigates supply and installation delays.

Erick Rafael Cordova, Ignacio Hernández, Marta Lozano, Alba Rocío Pérez, and Vicente Jesús Pozo – For the Cognitive Hospital project, a platform for the comprehensive management of hospital assets. It focuses on maintenance, energy efficiency, air quality, and patient experience. Currently implemented at Coslada Hospital, it will be extended to other hospital projects.

Carlos Balado, José Manuel Ballinote, David Barreda, and Juan Carlos Lama – For their initiative to improve air quality in confined spaces, enhancing worker safety by mitigating respiratory risks associated with respirable crystalline silica and diesel engine emissions.

Cristian Sandoval Correa – For developing a tool that minimizes high-potential incidents on concessioned roads by providing warning signals to motorists in work zones.

Ricardo Sepúlveda Espinoza – For a project analyzing and processing traffic data from Excel spreadsheets, including daily accumulated traffic, year-on-year comparisons, and revenue tracking by vehicle type.
Engineering & Infrastructure:

Manuel Ortiz Espinoza and Luis Shuffer Mendoza – For implementing industrialized prefabricated bathroom systems in hospitals. A total of 133 prefabricated bathrooms were installed, marking Sacyr’s first industrialized hospital building initiative in the Americas.

Steffany Martínez Roja – For fostering a culture of safety and improving worker health protection at Sacyr. Her initiative led to the implementation of a QR-based hazard reporting program at the Provincial Cordillera Hospital, allowing workers to easily report findings via mobile devices.

Operations & Technical Management Team (Francisco Bustos and Ricardo Herrera) – For an advanced phosphorus and nitrogen removal system at La Cadellada water treatment plant, one of the few facilities in the country implementing this process.

Jonathan Andrés Ospina García (Unión Vial Camino del Pacífico) – For optimizing operational processes, reducing execution times, minimizing human and operational errors, and enhancing environmental protection efforts.

Jorge Barange Cuevas, Elías González Álvarez, José Luis Fernández Martín, Rodolfo Rafael Costero Hernández, Víctor Antonio Rodríguez Reyes, and Luis Daniel Jiménez Osorio (Canal del Dique Project) – For their dedication to implementing a pilot drone-based bathymetric survey at the Canal del Dique project in Colombia.

Concessions – Central Office – For developing a financial strategy that achieved a 50% cost reduction in the Financial Transactions Tax (GMF) by optimizing the purchase of DIAN-issued tax refund certificates (TIDIS) for national tax payments (VAT, withholding tax). This initiative, led by treasury director Marisel Castro, generated significant savings for the company and was extended to various concessions.
Peru

Jessica Paola Sosa – For developing and implementing a control panel for material and labor performance indicators, enabling better tracking of theoretical versus actual material consumption in the field.

Dorothy Silva Fong and Ruth Cerna Jáuregui – For organizing a Road Safety Campaign during Carnival celebrations, distributing awareness posters and souvenirs promoting safe driving, respect for road workers, and emergency contact information.
We Are Perseverance
Kevin Teodoro Onofre – For identifying opportunities in solid waste management at the Wp3 project. His initiative resulted in cost savings of 4,380,539.81 soles and direct sales revenue of 329,348.57 soles, contributing positively to Wp3’s operational cash flow.

Víctor Augusto Méndez – For his rapid career progression from production assistant in March 2021 to section chief in January 2023. His innovation-driven approach led to research on cost optimization in formwork processes.
