Sacyr, via its subsidiary company Valoriza, will take over the street cleaning and waste management services in Cádiz. The contract has a 10-year duration and is valued at €148 million.
Valoriza will also upgrade the cleaning and waste collection vehicles and the trash bins in the city, as well as manage the municipal recycling drop-off point.
Cádiz, with a 115,000 population, is one of the most relevant contracts in Valoriza’s portfolio.

Environmental sustainability
Valoriza will upgrade all vehicles and machinery to newer, more eco-efficient models powered with compressed natural gas (CNG) or electricity. The new fleet will be less noisy and pollutant, and more environmentally friendly. Moreover, the fleet shed will be self-sustainable with renewable energies and net-zero CO2 emissions.
Technological innovations in the new vehicles and machinery allow the equipment to perform self-diagnoses and sent working and functioning data in real time, facilitating management and control of the services being provided at specific moments.
The new trash bins are easy to use and easy to unload, and include Smart Elements, which provide information in real time. In addition, they are also designed for easy, agile and efficient cleaning and maintenance in optimal conditions.
Social sustainability
Valoriza promotes diversity and inclusion of people with disabilities or at risk of social exclusión, as part of its active commitment to equal access to opportunities. Thus, on this contract, they will collaborate with special employment centers or work inclusion organizations.
