“The new catalog system is stored in SharePoint, thus providing all Sacyr Group members easy online access to the information they need, with the upside of having no limitation of date, time or place,” pitch in Sergio Tormenta, technical director of Production and Machinery Sacyr Neopul and Nuno Tavares, Logistics and Operation Coordinator of Railway Machinery in Portugal.
The user can access the machinery equipment information in two different ways.
Either by scanning a QR CODE with a mobile phone or tablet device, or by accessing the SharePoint itself on a computer. This way, the new organization method allows searching, looking up and sharing documents in a very simple and fast way, from anywhere. The information provided includes reports of the equipment models in the catalog and a detailed description of each vehicle.
When accessing via QR scan with a mobile or tablet device, the system prompts a series of screens that give advice on data related to the technical data sheet, inspection certificates, circulation and information about the machines' noise level. This function is operational for both iOS and Android system.
In addition, once the user views the documents in PDF format they shall save them to their mobile device, to have easier and quicker access to the data in case they want to check it again.
Thus, Sacyr Neopul manages to streamline and facilitate accessibility to documents related to vehicles in an innovative way, and above all to make this information available to any Sacyr employee who needs it.
