Sacyr Water begins to manage the water supply in Ribadesella (Asturias)

Sacyr Water has begun managing the supply of drinking water and sewerage services in Ribadesella (Asturias) for a five-year period (with the possibility of an extension for another 5 years), a project worth 5 million euros.

Sacyr Water is providing a service to a population of just under 5,700 which increases, during vacation periods, to 30,000. The company will supply over 1 million cubic meters of water per year to its customers.

Along with innovation, major priorities for all the processes involved in the service are the preservation of natural resources and the environment, and occupational health and safety.

As part of its commitment to innovation, Sacyr has designed an app that includes Aqu@m comprehensive management software. This allows access to the virtual office from any location, and can be used to obtain the bill for the service more quickly and easily, and in a more environmentally sustainable way. Among other things, it can also be used to submit meter readings, to report problems and to simulate a customer's next bill.

This contract represents the consolidation of Sacyr Water’s activity in Asturias, where it manages the public supply service in the Asturias Central Area, the water network linked to the Canal del Narcea in Ablaneda and the management, maintenance and upkeep of the La Franca Waste Water Management Stations. In addition, it manages the Waste Water Management Stations for the municipalities of Oscos, Taramundi, Grandas de Salime, Ibias, Degaña, San Tirso de Abres, Carreño, Vegadeo and Ribadesella, on behalf of the Asturias Sanitation Authority.

Sacyr Water is responsible for the management of the complete water cycle and operates and maintains more than 13,000 km of supply networks and more than 108,000 drains and manholes in six countries, in which it provides services to 10 million inhabitants.
