With the entry into operation of these last 20 km, corresponding to section 5.1, Route PY02’s 54.7 km duplication is complete.
In total, Rutas del Este concessionaire society, led by Sacyr Concesiones, has opened sections 3, 4.1, 5.3 and 5.1 of the highway to traffic.
At the height of the construction works, 1,200 people collaborate directly and approximately 4,000 indirectly. The project has counted on local workers. There are more than 500 machines on site, as well as concrete plants, asphalt, prefabs, and great capacity crushers.
Section 5.1

This stretch, which runs from the 155.1 km mark to the 174.9 km mark, has an intersection at the 158 km mark (Potrero Guayaki), another at the 170.6 km mark (Cantera Boca) and at the 171,6 km mark (calle Paraguarí), apart from several u-turns. 18 reinforced concrete cellular sewer pipes have been built for the transversal dredging, as well as a new bride over the arroyo Morotí (on km 161) and a box girder bridge on km 157.6.
The works consist on the duplication of lanes, separated by 6-meter-wide medians and the rehabilitation of the existing road, making a 27-meter platform. Each road has two two-way 3.5-meter-wide lanes, 1 meter-wide inside shoulders and 2.5-meter-wide shoulders.
PY02 Route
Route PY02 comprises from km 73 of Eusebio Ayala city to the 183 km mark of Caaguazú totaling 109 km in construction. It is divided in 5 main sections, with variations in the municipalities where it goes through. It is a very anticipated road solution in one of the most important areas of the country that will benefit more than 30,000 users per day.
