Sacyr Concesiones has been selected for the tender of the Santiago - San Antonio Highway Second P3 project, Ruta 78, which includes the improvement of the current road that connects Santiago with San Antonio, after the Ministry of Public Works opened the technical and economic bids.
The project, with an investment of US$ 892 million (€ 791 million) for a maximum variable term of 32 years, considers an extension of 132.8 km and will benefit a population of approximately 1.7 million people per year. It is a fundamental axis for cargo transport between Santiago and the Port of San Antonio and for the urban areas developed in the vicinity of its route.
Better safety
This P3 includes the improvement, construction, operation and maintenance of the pre-existing and new construction works of the highway. Some of the works are the improvement of several sections of the highway, the widening of traffic circles, the construction of new ramps to the ports, the full renovation of Manuel Rodriguez Bridge and new junctions, all with the aim of improving safety and reducing travel times.
Sacyr in Chile
Sacyr has invested close to $US 6,500 million in Chile in various projects through its three lines of business, including the construction, operation and management of 2 airports and 14 P3 roads, totaling more than 1,700 km of highways.
In hospital infrastructure, it has been awarded 7 hospitals, totaling more than 2,600 beds and approximately 600,000 m2. These include the Antofagasta and Buin-Paine hospitals (in a P3), Alto Hospicio, Biprovincial Quillota-Petorca, Villarrica, Sótero del Río and Cordillera.
In 2020, Sacyr Concesiones Agua started been operating four water cycle management companies in the Metropolitan Region and one water treatment company.
