Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructures has won a contract to construct a 6 kilometer road segment in Lubbock County (Texas, United States). The amount for the contract is 158.3 million dollars (130.3 million euros).
This contract is Sacyr’s third in Texas and the ninth in the United States since the company entered this market in 2018. The company currently has a work backlog of close to 2,150 million euros.
Sacyr will execute the reconstruction of a 6-km road segment for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to convert it from an undivided two-lane highway into a three-lane divided highway. It will also have collector roads on both sides of the main road axis.
The new layout factors in the construction of eight overpasses that cross over four intersections with local roads. Furthermore, construction works include the execution of 90,000 m3 of concrete pavement, dredging, guardrails, signaling, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
