We have signed the start of work contract of the Buenaventura–Loboguerrero–Buga road project in Colombia. The project is developed by Sacyr Concesiones, through the Unión Vial Camino del Pacífico concession company.
The start of this contract ends two decades of wait in the Valle del Cauca department in southwestern Colombia.
The road is 128-km long and it involves the construction of 35 new kilometers of divided highway. It will connect Buenaventura port with the interior regions of Colombia.
Creating 6,000 jobs
Sacyr Concesiones will invest 4 billion Colombian pesos (around €800 million) to do improvements on the road and operate and maintain it for 29 years.
Buga-Buenaventura will make a positive impact on this region and will create over 6,000 jobs (direct, indirect and induced employment).
Apart from having a safer, more comfortable road, users will experience a reduction in travel times by 30 minutes.
Buga-Buenaventura is the fifth road infrastructure Sacyr develops in Colombia.
