Sacyr, to build Universidad Europea's school building in Málaga with budget over €40 million

  • The project is developed on a 22,000 sqm plot and will have a main building featuring a 27,000 sqm built surface.

Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure is set to conclude the construction of the Universidad Europea of Andalusia in Malaga before the start of the new 2025/2026 school year. The project, which has a budget over €40 million, is located on a 22,418 sqm plot in the Teatinos university district, northwest of Malaga.

The main building will span 27,000 sqm of built surface area and will have spaces for collective use, laboratories, and classrooms.

Construction work began last year and will conclude so that the university becomes operational at the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year.

Five interconnected blocks

The main building will be divided into five connected blocks that will feature two underground floors and three floors. The circulation area is located on the axis of the main body, connecting the entire complex: classrooms, laboratories and gardens.

The new campus of the Universidad Europea of Andalusia will open its doors next school year with three new school buildings: Biomedical and Sports Sciences, Social Sciences and the Polytechnic School.

This project’s proposition by architect José Seguí, is to create a functional “city within the city", surrounded by green areas and with sustainability as a fundamental axis.
